Partnership

What sets Ridge Academy apart is the strong partnership that exists among the child, staff and parents. Teachers are partners with the children and their parents on the child's path to discovery and learning. Parents are recognized for the important role they play in their child's education. Parents are an integral part of the child's learning team, and, as such, retain voting rights as members of the Ridge Academy Corporation. Ridge Academy parents are committed to joining in partnership with other parents and the staff for the benefit of the entire school community.

Ridge Academy was founded as a rich partnership between families and school staff. The property, business and affairs of the Corporation are managed by our Board of Directors, composed of parents and the principal. We hold an annual election to elect the parent Board members. All current Ridge Academy parents are eligible to participate in the election.

The educational program is managed by the education team. The Board of Directors appoints the Principal, who in turn hires the teaching staff. We have carefully selected a team of experienced teachers so that we can use a team approach in designing and implementing our curriculum. Each of our staff members brings a rich and diverse background. Decisions regarding our educational program are made collaboratively among the staff members with input from the parents and under the direction of the Principal.
