Parents We are a small school and the input and help of every parent is welcomed and needed. Ridge Academy parents are regularly asked for their input in important decisions, participate in workshops, and gladly lend a helping hand at the school whenever needed. From time to time, parent action teams are formed to respond to areas of need in the school. These teams are formed at the Board's request, and most often arise from the expressed interest of parents. Ridge Academy parents serve on Board committees, including finance, development, and marketing. Ridge Academy parents take their role in the partnership seriously, realizing that partnership means regular sharing of time, talent and ideas. Parents and grandparents are welcome in the classrooms to participate in classroom projects or to share their knowledge or interests with the students. For example, a parent who is a physician has taught classes on the importance of nutrition, and a grandparent who is interested in genealogy has spoken to students about researching a family tree. The presence of parents in the building is beneficial to students because it is a visible reminder of their parents' commitment to education. For parents, this close partnership is an opportunity to participate fully in their children's educational development.
